Documenting Life: Favorite Toy (Week 20)

Molly's favorite toy...that's hard to narrow down to just one. Right now I'd have to say it's her Minnie Mouse. We take her every where with us, even on our recent trip to Colorado. Minnie sits at the table when we eat, sits in the seat belt in the car, and goes to bed with Molly every night. Here's a few pics of the two at Papa's Park.

I'm ok with her being obsessed with Minnie as long as I'm her BFF!!

Documenting Life: Ringing in the New Year (Week 19)

My mom decided she was going to start a tradition of getting the grandkids for NYE and have a slumber party. So Drake and Molly spent the night and they had a fun time. As for Joel and I on our free night, we went to dinner and then headed home. I was asleep by 10:00 - I know we're pretty wild! :) I think Molly stayed up later than I did, but I sure enjoyed my good night's sleep! On New Year's Day, we all went to mom's to pick up our kiddos and had a good lunch together. Here's a pic of the party people...

Hope you guys have a great 2012! We have a lot of fun stuff planned this year and I'm really looking forward to it!

Documenting Life: Christmas and Presents! (Week 18-Part 2)

First of all, Go Pokes! Glad they pulled it off.

Ok, now to continue on with The Documenting Life Challenge of Christmas and Presents! So I left off at Christmas Eve... We went to Joel's mom's that night to open presents. I think Molly opened everyone's presents there. She was excited! Of course, Joel's brother and sis-in-law got her a drum set! Since their son is 15, I'm assuming they feel like they're safe on the payback of loud music-maker toys. Dang it. But Molly really liked! Along with other things, they also got her Mickey Mouse, which now goes everywhere with us. Grandma and Papa got her some adorable clothes, table and chairs, dishes, house shoes, and some other toys. It was a fun night!

CHRISTMAS MORNING = SANTA CAME!!!
This was the funnest Christmas morning ever! Molly loved her Barbie Jeep that Santa brought her. He did good! She liked all the other toys, but couldn't quit playing with her Jeep long enough to really check out her other new toys.

See ya!

After breakfast, we headed to Coffeyville to my Grandma and Grandpa Bunny's. This was another great family Christmas that hasn't happened in a few years. I loved spending time with my whole family! My grandparents are some very special people that everyone loves. My grandpa recently got his license to fly a powerchute so he took almost everyone up for a ride. It was freezing, but so much fun!!! (That's a whole other blog with pics and video) He's pretty awesome! Here are more Christmas pics tho!

A new kitchen!

Jumping up and down in excitement!

She loves this cash register. She calls this game "9 Dollars" and we play it constantly. (thanks Aunt Carrie)

New hat and purse

My princess!

Drake is such a good cousin playing tea party :)

We are so very blessed to have awesome friends and family. As I'm writing this blog and remembering our Christmas, I am so thankful for the precious moments we made with our loved ones. Most of all, I'm thankful for Baby Jesus (as Molly says when playing with our nativity set) and what He did for us. I'm grateful for my church and the special services we had to help us really worship Jesus and focus on the real reason for the season.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you a Happy 2012!!!

Documenting Life: Christmas and Presents! (Week 18-Part 1)

It's January 2nd! Can you believe it? It feels like we just had Thanksgiving! I guess that's the holiday season for you...one big blur. At least I have some precious pictures of my family to remember this Christmas. We had a wonderful time being with friends and family over the past couple of weeks. Molly LOVED opening presents this year and really loved Santa coming to her house! She made Christmas so much fun for us!

We first started the festivities with our annual "cookie making party" with Shannon and Madison at my mom's house. For those of you that don't know, Shannon is my long time BFF from 7th grade so we've been doing this for awhile! It's fun that we both have daughters now so our girls join the tradition. Shan and I made a few cookies and talked a lot, while our girls made gingerbread houses with my mom. I think they were a little more productive, but we got a lot of catching up done so it was a great day. Here are some pics...

THE MASTERPIECES! :)

On the 21st, my birthday, we went to Bass Pro Shop to get our pics with Santa. Molly was not scared of him at all, however she wasn't overly excited either. When I asked her what Santa said to her, she said, "Ho, Ho, Ho!" I asked for it I guess....lol.

On the 22nd, we celebrated with the Scott side of Joel's family. It was the first time in a long that time, that the whole family was able to make it. I think everyone really enjoyed visiting with family.
Joel with his brothers and cousins

The Grandkids

I just really like this one (partly cause I feel like doing that sometimes)

Cousin Maci with Molly= lil divas!

We were celebrating Nan's birthday too!

Joel with our nephew Chancy

Molly Jane with Michael Jon (or the MJ's)

The 23rd we watched Christmas Vacation and wrapped presents. Love. That. Movie. It doesn't feel like Christmas until we've watched it for the year.

Ok, well that's all for this blog. I'll try to finish Part 2 tomorrow night, but I'm getting tired and OSU is tied at half time in the Fiesta Bowl so I want to start paying attention to the game! Go POKES!

Talk to you tomorrow night, hopefully.

Documenting Life: Family Picture (Week 17)

In following the Documenting Life Challenge with Jenny Collier Photography, we are to post a family picture. I took a family pic of us for our Christmas card. My family was so excited (not) to pose for momma as I set the 10 second timer on the camera while sitting it on the bar on a tupperware dish. Hey, we got it done. Here is our awesome, almost professional, family portrait. :)
Did you notice the shadowed cross in the background? I would like to say that I'm just really that good of a photographer to do that, but in reality it was not planned at all. I thought it was really cool though. I love when God shines through in unexpected ways.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas. It was one of the best ones for me! My girl makes it so much fun! Kids are the best! I'm going to do another blog on Christmas- once I go through the millions of pictures I took.

Documenting Life: Your Child's Bedroom (Week 16)

You'll probably be seeing several post this week. I got behind on The Challenge with all the festivities of Christmas going on. I was supposed to show pics of my girl's bedroom a couple weeks ago. So here ya go...

Of course now, it'll look different once we add her new "big girl" toys in it. This girl has more toys than she knows what to do with. She's such a loved little girl.

Potty Training for Grown Ups

So I think Molly's about ready to start potty training. I haven't been too concerned with it because I wanted her to be ready when we started the process, and I thought we would get completely settled into the new house before we started something else drastic in her life. Plus I don't think daycare really pushes it much until they are 2. But she's been showing signs of being interested, like watching me go, getting toilet paper and throwing it in between my legs, flushing the toilet, etc. And the other evening she took her diaper off and wore big girl panties until it was bath time with no accidents!

Well, she was at her Grandma Donna's today and Donna said she got "the look" on her face. This is the text I got from her:
Sorry for the poop pic, but I about peed my own pants reading this!!! Hilarious!

This reminded me of another incident that happened a few weeks back. Molly was taking a bath and she said "Momma, poop?" I said "Molly, you have to go poop?" She said "No". So I thought we were just gonna talk about it for a minute, until I saw it floating. I immediately got her in a towel and told her to go see Daddy so I can get the tub cleaned up. So, she goes to Joel and says, "Daddy, poop?" He said "Molly, you have to go poop?" (fully knowing what just happened in the tub). She said, "No" and then the next thing we know, she poops in the floor!!! (This story is funny now.)

So Molly's taught us grown ups 2 lessons so far in potty training:
1) Put her on the toilet when she says "poop"!
2) Let her finish!

I'm sure she'll teach us more lessons before she's potty trained. Hope we're quick learners!

Documenting Life: Normal Breakfast (Week 15)

This week's challenge was to capture your kids eating their normal breakfast. During the week, Molly and I are driving to Muskogee (usually in a hurry, eating a cereal bar along the way) and she'll eat breakfast at school. At home, her usual breakfast is yogurt, a banana, and some toast or cereal bar with milk or juice. She likes to sit in her highchair, watch Dora or Mickey Mouse, leisurely eat, and just veg out for 30 minutes or so. It's her wake-up time I guess. I like that too, it just doesn't happen for either one of us very often. Anyway, here are a few pics of her eating breakfast this morning...
Thinking about it

Not completely awake yet

Getting better

DONE!!

Molly is growing up so fast. She is repeating everything now... like telling me "not nice" as I have said to her before, "Molly, you're not acting very nice". She really talks a lot but some other sayings that she's picked up from us that make me laugh are: "Cool!", "Hi (or bye) guys!", "Cute!", "See ya!", "Stop it", but my favorite... "Uv (love) you". That one melts my heart every time. They are such little sponges at this age. She amazes me daily on how smart she's getting and how much she knows. Kids are cool!

Hope you have a productive week. I need to have one! 2 weeks 'til Christmas and I'm not even half way done with my shopping- which is about par for me. :)

Documenting Life: Decorating the Christmas Tree (Week 14)

Molly and I decorated our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Joel went hunting (of course) so we put on cartoons, decorated the house, and stayed in our PJ's well into the afternoon. It was a great morning for me and my girl. Here are a few pics of the tree (a few days after we decorated it)...

Molly had to get my little camera out so she could take her own pics

Her fave "Dowa" ornaments

Molly's tree in her room

We also have to keep her "Mouse" blow-up in the entry way because she loves it so much. She had to take a pic of Mouse while I was trying to get pics of her.

Just a funny pic of why I love being a "girl" mom... pretend high heels with Crocs that are 2 sizes too small!
