Documenting Life: Family Picture (Week 28)

We did the St. Patrick's Day run this morning. Molly, Mom, and I ran the 1 mile fun run and Joel and I did the 5k. This was Molly's first race and it was a blast! Molly did great and loved running with the crowd cheering her on. She would wave and dance at the spectators...such a little ham! I'm so glad that she enjoyed it. She makes her momma proud! I hope there are many more races together in our future! Here are a few more pics of our day...

Almost there...we can see the finish line!

Happy girl!

Yay! We did it!

Pretty good for a 2 year old to do a mile in 20 minutes!

Worn smooth out! Lol.

Hope you guys are out enjoying this beautiful weather too! Have a great day!

Documenting Life: Bundled Up (Week 27)

So as I'm writing this, it is currently 69 degrees at 6:30 am!!! This has been the warmest winter ever! But the prompt of "Bundled Up", immediately takes my mind to Colorado. I've been wanting to do a post on that trip anyway, so here goes...

Once upon a time, in a land about 12 hours away, there was this family who went on vacation to Beaver Creek, CO in January 2012....
Actually there were 9 of us that went and we had a blast! We like to go on group trips to the mountains so people can ski, shop, or just play in the snow. We weren't impress with the shopping in our area but the skiing was great! We rented a house right on the ski run heading to the gondola. This was by far the best ski-in/ski-out place we've ever been to! It was great because Molly could be on the deck and watch all the skiers go by. Which made her want to ski herself! Here are some pics of our trip:

It was a great trip! We love our family vacations to the mountains and this one was no exception!

Hope you have a great Saturday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Documenting Life: Some Place We Always Go (Week 26)

Has it really been a month since my last blog?!? I need to get my rear in gear. I'm behind!

This one is about some place that we always go to...DAYCARE!

Molly's been going to daycare since she was four months old. We love her daycare! I'm so thankful for the wonderful teachers that work with my kid every day! Molly loves her teachers too- she makes me pray for them every night. So sweet!

As most of you know, Molly and I drive to Muskogee from Tulsa every morning. Molly usually sleeps most of the way, so this is what she looks like in the mornings:

Once we get there, we get her dressed and ready for the day. Then she goes to eat breakfast.

One day this week, they had picture day. Here she is waiting for her turn.

The one above is with her cousin Parker. Aren't they adorable?!?

Although I was nervous about daycares at first, sending her to MRMC has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents so far. Whew!

Hope you have a quick Thursday, so the weekend will be here! Don't forget to wear green on Saturday! ;)

Documenting Life: Mom and Dad (Week 25)

Yay! I'm caught back up on The Challenge! This week is easy...just post a pic of mom and dad. We took this pic at Molly's party (hence the reason we're in Mickey shirts). We're normally not this cool. :)

I kind of like him, a lot! Thanks for being a great dad, husband, and friend to Molly and me. You're the best! We love you bunches!

Documenting Life: Laughing! (Week 24)

Last week's challenge was to get a shot of your child laughing. Molly laughs a lot, but it's hard for me to catch it on camera! Her Daddy did a good job tickling her! :)

Love those smiles and LOVE the sound of Molly's laughter! There's no sweeter sound in this world (to me at least).

Hope you guys have a good day! And try to laugh a little!

Documenting Life: Creativity (Week 23)

Molly likes to cook! It doesn't matter whether it's for play or with me in the kitchen, she just likes to serve people food. She'll make sure you eat it too. She gets her little finger pointing at the food and says EAT! Here are some pics of here being "creative" in her kitchen. (excuse the snotty nose- I'm actually home sick with her today; cough, fever, snot, when does it end?!?)

Documenting Life: Mom and Me (Week 22)

As most moms, I'm the official photographer of our family. That doesn't mean I'm good- just means I'm the one that reaches for the camera; and therefore, I'm never in the shot. Here are a couple pics we took a few nights ago while playing around before bed. I tried a new photo editing app on my iPad. It's pretty cool and fun to play with. :)

Here's another pic of mommy and baby when she was just one day old. Gosh, I love that baby and the little girl she's become!

She's going to be 2 in 10 days! Doesn't seem possible! I can close my eyes and remember her as this tiny, precious infant. Now I'm glad she's 2. I like to sleep and laugh at her random thoughts. She's a funny girl.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend. We're sure planning on it!

Documenting Life: Tackling a Challenge (Week 21)

Last week we were in Colorado and Molly did tackle a challenge...SKIING! We were walking around the base at Beaver Creek and she saw some little skis at a ski shop. She immediately tried to stand on one.

So we went into the store to see if they had boots that would fit her. The guy was so helpful, but kept warning me that she would not be ready to go skiing down the mountain on her own. Really?!? I was going to take her to the top with me. Lol.

We had to rent them! We were able to get the skis off her but she wanted to keep the boots on. Now for those of you that have skied before, you know how hideously uncomfortable those boots are. Plus hers were a couple sizes too big, but she was too excited to take them off.

Molly was a little more apprehensive to ski once we were in the snow on the ski run. We finally got the skis on her and slid her around for a little bit. It was fun!

Joel and I love to ski and really want her to enjoy it too. Next year she'll be old enough for ski school! That gets us excited!

The Coolest Grandpa EVER!

I know everyone thinks they have the best grandparents ever, but I really do have them! All of us feel so lucky to have been born into their family. They are just down right fun. My grandma was only 37 when I was born and my grandpa was 40 so they've been young and full of energy my whole life!

A year or so ago, my grandpa decided he was going to get his license to fly a power chute. It wasn't a surprise to us- he's owned almost every type of motorized contraption available. Growing up we always had dirt bikes, go carts, motorized bicycles, etc. He also went sky diving with my uncle and 2 cousins recently. He's just wild and has no fear.

Christmas afternoon, all the big kids took turns going up with Grandpa. It was cold but so fun! Here are some pics and a video Joel took with his phone.

There they go!

They almost hit a tree...oops!
